GSMA's Global Mobile Awards
Dr Jane Vincent, Visiting Fellow with DWRC is one of this year's Judges for the prestigious GSMA's Global Mobile Awards being announced during the Mobile Communications Congress being held in Barcelona 27 feb - 1 March 2012. Jane, an Awards Judge since 2004, has been involved with the industry organisation the GSMA for many years and says of the MWC and the Awards 'This is a truly global mobile communications event at which companies showcase their successes and innovative designs. The Awards are representative of the best of the best and show just how mobile communications have become part of the day to day lives of people throughout the world'.
Chris Locke, Managing Director of GSMA's Development Fund will be speaking at the DWRC on Thursday 8 March 2012.

Bespoke to exhibit at V&A | 17 - 23 September 2011
Bespoke is to present a number of its designs, and deliver a talk on the project's methodology at the V&A as part of the London Design Festival. More information on the event can be found here.
Taking place between September Saturday 17th and Friday 23rd, Bespoke will show its Wayfinder, Viewpoint and Busker designs.
On Tuesday 20th between 4.15pm and 5.30pm, there will be a talk and presentation at the Design Space in the Sackler Centre investigating how 'Insight Journalism' can be used as a catalyst for community innovation and engagement.
We hope many of you will be able to attend the talk on Tuesday 20th September at 4:15. Entry to the talk is free but advance tickets are required from the V&A.

The UK’s future economic prosperity relies, in part, on the ability of government, industry and universities to spark rapid growth in its Creative, Digital and Information Technology businesses, according to The Fuse a report published by the Council for Industry and Higher Education (CIHE) today (Wednesday 8 September).
The landmark report presents a series of urgent recommendations from CIHE’s Creative, Digital and Information Technology industries Task Force – a group of influential figures from industry and academia co-chaired by Rona Fairhead, Chairman and CEO of the Financial Times Group, and Professor Christopher Snowden, Vice Chancellor of the University of Surrey.
The digital market is set to exceed $3 trillion revenue in the next four years, and entertainment and media $1.7 trillion. In the wake of this growth new industries have emerged that are simultaneously creative, digital and IT focused. With technology and content industries currently contributing £102 billion in gross value added to the economy and the Coalition Government’s first Comprehensive Spending Review just weeks away, The Fuse argues it is vital that the UK claims a leading position in this fiercely competitive, fast-paced global market.
